Developing boards & governance

Developing boards & governance

Developing good governance is basically an expression of the extent to which you have internalised your purpose in how you ‘do-things-round-here’. Learning studio is involved in developing boards & governance, helping boards of directors and trustees to better internalise their purpose in their governance systems. This often involves

  • developing informal ways of working to complement the formal
  • learning how to make use of ‘difference’ and ‘diversity of views’
  • discovering what is distinct about ‘directing’ as opposed to being ‘an executive’
  • considering the longer-term
  • exploring how to encourage innovation

Clients for board development & governance include: NHS London (and their Health & Well Being Boards), General Motors (South America); Burton Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust; FOCUS Birmingham; Lancashire Care NHS Foundation Trust; Dudley & Walsall Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust; North Staffordshire Combined Healthcare NHS Trust; South West London & St George’s Mental Health Trust; Wirral Community NHS Trust.
